In the 1920’s, Haiku was one of Maui’s largest and most important towns. Haiku was home to Hawaii’s first and largest pineapple cannery. Situated at the center of what is now the small rural village of Haiku, the cannery was the hub of pineapple growing in the area. The cannery was served by a railroad that connected Haiku to the port at Kahului via the famous Maliko Trestle.
Haiku Cannery Manager’s Home
The Haiku Cannery Inn occupies the historic Manager’s Home for this pineapple cannery. Built in 1920 in the classic Hawaii plantation style, the house looks down on the cannery (now a dining and shopping area) a mile below. With a stately drive, stables, greenhouses, servants, a grand entranceway and 10′ high coffered ceilings, the Manager’s Home was a fitting setting for the manager of the cannery operations.
Haiku Cannery Inn Bed & Breakfast
Today, the stables and servants are gone and the 3-acre grounds feature wild rainforest. The house is being restored and is now open as the fully-licensed Haiku Cannery Inn Bed & Breakfast.

Features include detailed information on the program, self assessment tools, a calculator to estimate reductions, resources to find free counseling, and a checklist of required documents.
